the things she says...
Mommy: Hey Lucca, Daddy is turning 35 on Sunday!
Lucca: Thirty-five!
Mommy: That's OLD!!!
Lucca: Daddy's old! Mommy's new!
I LOVE HER MORE AND MORE EACH DAY.

Hawaii 2011
BEST Christmas present ever? A surprise trip to Hawaii!
This is how it all began:
And here are some iPhone photos of the best vacation of 2011 so far. More photos to come!
And in case you didn't know? My husband is the best. I am a lucky lady. Lucca is an amazing traveler!!! My parents rule. Hawaii is amazing. Rustin builds a mean sand castle. Lucca prefers swimming in the pool to ocean. If you find yourself in Honolulu, dine at Orchids. And finally, I was not the most pregnant girl on the beach...hallelujah! (Although probably the most pregnant one in a bikini...)

Hangin' with Connor
Lucca and I played with cousin Connor today while his mommy was busy packin' up their San Francisco apartment to move far, far away. It was a great (and scary) preview of what our world is about to become ... yikes! :)
It won't be like this for long.
Blogging a favorite moment from last night so I keep in it my memory. Last night, after Daddy got home from work, Lucca was so excited. She looked up at him, and then looked up at me, and with a huge smile on her face, she shouted "EVERYBODY!"
She loves when we are all at home together...and it was ADORABLE to see her light up when she realized mommy & daddy were both home.
It's also sweet to think that we are the only people who matter to her right now, as we know this won't be the case for long. She is happiest with just her mommy and daddy. Little does she know, "everybody" is about to include a baby brother, but for now we love when the 3 of us are considered her whole world.

Atlanta Christmas 2010
It feels funny writing about Christmas on January 5, but oh well...here's a quick little recap! We loved our time spent in Georgia with all the family - and Lucca was a gem on both cross country flights, even when Yo Gabba Gabba didn't work on daddy's laptop (epic fail!!!). She had the best time at Mimi & Papa's house (AKA Disney World) - chasing Scruffy, playing basketball, collecting pine straw, riding bikes, looking at Christmas lights in the neighborhood, playing the piano, meeting Santa Claus, staying up til midnight on New Years Eve and spending time with her cousins.
Cousins baking Christmas cookies
The Annual Christmas Eve Puppet Show (Lucca was front row center)
Singing Christmas carols with Aunt Amy
And best of all, we had a WHITE CHRISTMAS!!! This is when the snow just began falling on Christmas Day. I was so excited I had to run out right away and take pictures...even though it hardly even stuck yet. It was so pretty and such a treat for this California girl!

Lucca liked coloring on the boxes as much as opening the presents :)
Her favorite spot at Mimi's house...the pool table.
No time for smiles, opening presents is all business...
More presents
Yo Gabba Gabba coloring books!!!
Thanking Mimi for spoiling her rotten! :)
And after an almost perfect Christmas Day, this next picture was taken just seconds before Lucca decided to touch that space heater on the right, burning both hands and creating quite the dramatic Christmas night, complete with a trip to Walgreens for burn ointment (but better than a trip to the hospital!). Rookie mom mistake - don't allow kids near space heaters!
Lucca and Lia holding hands at the Atlanta zoo. Cousins rule!
Those are just a few of our many holiday memories from this trip. Christmas 2010 was a success! We kept saying it will be our last calm Christmas before the storm of next year when we will have TWO KIDS and Lucca will know exactly what's going on. We enjoyed every moment of it and are so thankful and blessed for our family to spend the season with. Goodbye 2010 - Now on to 2011!!!
