My lil' carpool mate

I love being this girls mama. It's so crazy to think that a year ago, she was not riding in the backseat of my car. It sort of feels like she's always been there. We like to giggle, sing and clap nonstop when we go for car rides. I love taking her places.

It doesn't matter where we go, we have loads of fun just getting there.

Mommy's Dress

Thank God for baby girls! Lucca got to play dress-up for the first time in a vintage dress from when I was a baby. Vintage = 1981 ;) I was so excited for the day my little pink & white dress would fit my own baby girl. Talk about full circle! What a sweet sight to see her in my own little dress. She looked so pretty for about 15 minutes, and then we had to get it off of her quickly so she could run around. She was getting frustrated by not being able to crawl and move around because the dress was too long! She would pick up the dress and just look at me, like "MOM GET THIS OFF OF ME, I CAN'T MOVE!" And for my lil busy body, that was a BIG problem.

Feeling Better!

Our baby girl is feeling better, so we took her to the park for some fresh air! The squeals she lets out as soon as she realizes she's at the swings are priceless. She starts waving at everybody, kicking her legs, and laughing with excitement. It is ADORABLE. Not so adorable is the crying once it's time to leave the park, but it doesn't last long :)

Oh, did I tell you?

That I left Lucca for the 1st time overnight?! Actually, this was the 1st time I left her for longer than 3 HOURS! Finally, at 11 months old, to the dismay of some...(ahem, mom!)...I left my little girl to celebrate Rachel getting married! The overnighter bachelorette party consisted of winetasting in the Santa Ynez Valley in Southern California. Such a great time! I started missing Lucca as soon as I left her, but it was so nice to finally have some much needed girl time. It's not quite as glamourous of a vacation when the breastpump takes up 1/2 your overnight bag, but it was reassuring that 3 of the 9 ladies on the trip were also PUMPING. :)

Lucca survived with Daddy. He actually loved it, and I'm sure she did too. In fact, they had such a great time, I'm ready to plan my next girls weekend......

Thank you, Sophie

...For comforting my sick little Lucca today. My baby doll lost her sparkle a couple days ago, so today I took her to the doctor. Diagnosis: Double ear infections, goopy eyes and a nasty cold. Heartbreaking. We are lucky she's been so amazingly healthy since she was born, but we are paying our dues with this one. More often than not, I want to freeze time, but today I wished she was older so I could take her out for a milkshake and let her watch movies all day like my mom used to do when we were sick. One day, that's what we'll do lil' babe. But for now, please hurry and get that sparkle back.

A bad blogger, with good reason.

February is a month of traveling for us, so not much time for updates at the moment. We just spent a lovely week in Seattle to celebrate my sister's twins 1st birthday. We are already counting the days until they come down to California next month to celebrate Lucca's 1st birthday! It's always so fun to get all the babies together. And by fun, I mean CHAOTIC and TIRING. Everywhere we go, people ask if they are triplets. We are quite a sight to see, loading & unloading three babies out of the car, walking up & down the grocery aisle with three babies in the cart, pretty much just going anywhere with these three babies causes a major scene.

We are in LA now while daddy shoots a commercial. Today we went to visit Daddy on set at Universal Studios. Now I can tell Lucca she's already been to Universal Studios, just don't tell her it was the back lot! I'll try to post a few mobile photos while we are down here, but for now, here's one of our little traveler from a park in Seattle. She still only has 2 teeth, but shows them off proudly!
