Stinson Beach

It's no wonder California is overcrowded. Although, you'd never know it given this perfectly empty beach at 9:30 on a Sunday morning.

Stinson Beach is stunning. This was our first trip to this beach since we've been a family of four. The kids LOVED it. So did the parents. We are already dreaming about our next day spent soaking up the sun and splashing in the waves. We are lucky to call this part of the world "home" ...

Soccer!

Today was Lucca's first soccer practice! It was ADORABLE. She's on the 3.5/4 year old team and did super duper. We didn't have doubts about her skills, we just weren't sure how well she would listen to the coach :)

But we should have given her the benefit of the doubt because she rocked it. Played all the games, stayed on the field (!!!) and listened to her coach. She loved it. As soon as we got in the car, she said she wanted to do it again. Today.

Such a star...

Lucca at 3 years old...

She is still a sparkle, sweet as can be, smart as can be, beautiful as can be.
She wants to be a ballerina when she grows up.  "Actually, right now Mama" she says.  Loves princesses, running, kicking her soccer ball, singing, playing doctor, wearing fancy dresses, all things lavender, building sand castles, dreaming about cupcakes & cookies & gumdrops, running through the sprinklers, going on adventures, riding her bike, and going to Target & Whole Foods.

She just got her big girl bed and loves it.  Of course she does, it's lavender.  She is signed up for her first soccer team, she does yoga with me and she likes picking out her own clothes (and brother's and Dad's) each morning.

Favorite books: Berenstain Bears, Fancy Nancy
Favorite fruits: Watermelon, blueberries or "Sugar Oranges" (mandarin oranges)
Favorite vegetables: red bell peppers, sugar snap peas, cucumbers & carrots
Favorite show: Doc McStuffins

Next week, Lucca starts preschool.  Preschool!!!  I am ecstatic and sad.  Mostly happy for her, but a bit sad that she is old enough for school!  And hoping she doesn't come home from school with too many germs, too much attitude or learned bad words.  Other kids are so gross, right Mamaswisher?  :)

I wish I could shelter this girl forever under my big ol' mama wings, letting her not have a care in the world, always a mind full of positivity and dreams as big as her imagination allows, but I realize a big part of parenting is letting your babies fly.  And this girl has some pretty awesome wings of her own.

Also, did I mention she will only be going 6 hours a week? :)  HA.  Two mornings a week, that's it.
I think I'll survive.

Lucca has crazy good athletic talent. It's so dang exciting to think of her potential to be anything she wants. She will be good at many things, and it's fun to dream about what interests she will hold on to and really embrace.

Running, soccer, tennis, who knows. It's going to be awesome.

Today when she was running and kicking the ball across the lawn, with her Daddy and I cheering her on, I got a glimpse of future games and us being the wildly proud parents on the sidelines. Oh man, this is going to be fun. Kids are rad.

Well, 13 months later and Lucca finally asked if I could put Jackson back in my tummy. I'd say that's pretty good to go a year and a month before wanting him to go back to where he came from...
